History

Said to have originated in the village of Tramin in northern Italy, from which it takes its name. Most successful in Alsace, where late harvest and Selection de Grains Nobles sweet wines are also produced.

Sommelier Note

Gewürztraminer is a distinctive variety that divides opinions. However, it pairs surprisingly well with spicy Thai and Indian cuisine, and its pairing with foie gras is exquisite. Once you fall for it, there's no going back.
