History

Cultivated for centuries in Galicia. Once suggested to be related to Riesling, but genetic studies confirmed it as a distinct variety. Known as 'Alvarinho' in Portugal.

Sommelier Note

Young Albariño shows fresh citrus and stony minerality. With age, adds honey and nut nuances. Legendary pairing with Galician octopus. Also pairs well with Japanese seafood.
