History

Said to have originated from Pinot Noir in Burgundy, it's now primarily grown in northern Italy and Alsace. Interestingly, the same variety produces completely different wines in Italy and Alsace.

Sommelier Note

Italian Pinot Grigio is perfect for refreshing on hot days. Alsatian Pinot Gris has enough richness to be the star of a meal. The fact that the same variety can produce such different wines speaks to differences in terroir and winemaker philosophy.
