History

Cultivated in Georgia for over 8,000 years. The name means 'dye,' referring to its intense color. Used for mass-production wines during Soviet era, but has since shifted to quality winemaking.

Sommelier Note

Young Saperavi shows concentrated dark fruit and intense tannins. After 10+ years, develops leather and spice complexity with remarkable depth. Exceptional with Georgian cuisine and lamb.
