History

Born in Bordeaux, France in the 17th century through natural crossing of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Now cultivated worldwide and loved both as a single variety and in blends.

Sommelier Note

Cabernet Sauvignon shows its true character with decanting. Opening it 1-2 hours before drinking softens the firm tannins and opens up the aromas. Pairing with red meat is classic, but it surprisingly pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate too.
