History

European immigrants began grape cultivation in the late 1800s, and after the interruption of Prohibition, modern winemaking took off in the 1960s. The victory in the 1976 Paris Tasting made Napa Valley famous worldwide.

Sommelier Note

Napa Cabernet has a different charm from Bordeaux. It features riper fruit flavors and smoother tannins, making it enjoyable at a relatively young age. Comparing Oakville and Rutherford is also quite interesting.
