History

An ancient variety cultivated in Burgundy for over 2,000 years. Medieval monks worked on improving the variety and laid the foundation for today's Pinot Noir. It produces some of the world's finest wines, including Romanée-Conti.

Sommelier Note

Pinot Noir shows completely different expressions depending on the region, even with the same variety. The elegance of Burgundy, the fruitiness of Oregon, the freshness of New Zealand. Comparing them allows you to experience the differences in terroir. It also pairs wonderfully with Japanese cuisine.
