History

Crossed in 1925 by Professor Abraham Perold at Stellenbosch University. Initially inconsistent, improved winemaking techniques since the 1990s have produced high-quality wines.

Sommelier Note

Modern Pinotage balances smokiness with dark fruit beautifully. Old vine examples are remarkably complex, expressing South Africa's unique terroir. Excellent with BBQ and spicy dishes.
